One-page Sketch #10

You can download and print this sketch by clicking on the one-page sketches link found under the "printable sketches" tab on the right sidebar.

"Play" by Allison Davis
Supplies - Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned paper: Fancy Pants; Chipboard: Fancy Pants

I thought I would share the layout that One-page Sketch #10 is based on. I created this layout long ago when I first started scrapbooking, (which also explains the not so great photo of the layout!) Even though the layout is older it's still one of my favorites, mostly in part to the sweet moment captured in the photo!

"Sweet Family" by Shari Thurman
Supply List - Pattern Paper, stickers and tiny alpha: Echo Park; Chipboard alphabet and Decorative Brads: American Crafts; Ink: Colorbox Chalk Ink; 3D adhesive: Thermoweb; Tools: EK Success and Stampin' Up; Other: Cardstock, pen and machine stitching

I followed the sketch with only a few additions. I added decorative brads to the center of my flowers and to create extra dimension between the layers, I used 3D adhesive. I also added a few word stickers to one of the squares to support my title and journaling and used a scalloped sticker along the bottom
for added interest. I really enjoyed working with this sketch.

"Crazy & Fun!" by Melissa Elsner
Supplies - Patterned Paper: Pink Paislee; Cardstock, Alphabet: American Crafts; Flowers: Zva Creative; Liquid Pearls: Ranger Industries; Bling: Recollections; Floss: DMC

Variation #1: I loved the blocking of this sketch and so stayed true to the dimensions.

Variation #2: For each patterned paper block, I hand stitched using my floss. I separated the strands of floss to just use one for stitching so it wouldn't be so thick.

Variation #3: For the top right square, I chose to do a cluster of flowers instead of the round embellishment.

Variation #4: By using little drops of the Liquid Pearls, I added some interest and balance to the overall design of my layout.

I love the little blocks of color and design on this page. It looks great with just the one photo too. Everyone here did a wonderful job on their l/o. Each one captured a sweet memory with just that one photo and few words.

Great sketch! I see a Christmas layout with the squares representing Christmas presents when I see it. Thinking...thinking... :)

I don't usually do 1 pg LO's but after seeing the samples today I have a few pictures in mind that would be perfect for this LO. I love the inspiration I get on this site. Allison you are awesome! (of course all you lovely ladies who interpret her sketches are too!)
hmmmm....thinking I need to go to my scrap room and do some playing around.
