Two-page Sketch #16

"We All Scream For Ice Cream" by Carolyn Wolff
Supply List - Cardstock: Bazzill;
Patterned Paper: Nikki Sivils, Little Yellow Bicycle
; Floss: DMC
 Buttons: unknown; Ink: Ranger Distress Ink – Vintage Photo; Foam Adhesive: 3L

For me, this sketch is a perfect example of how great Allison’s sketches can be. When I first saw this one, all I could think of where the flowers that were showing along the left side of the page. I already had photos that I wanted to use and you can see that my layout has nothing to do with flowers.

Variation #1 – I used patterned paper to create all the strips along the bottom of the sketch. It shows to used different pieces, but the paper I selected already had different sections, which made it really easy to incorporate into the page. I cut out matching pieces and popped them up to create some dimension.

Variation #2 – I placed embellishments (cut outs from the pattern papers) in the areas that were marked out on the sketch. I highlighted with stitching (of course).

Variation #3 – I moved the journaling area to the lower right and used word strips from the cut out sheet.

"My Boys" by Allison Davis
Supplies - Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned paper: October Afternoon, The Girls Paperie; Alphabets: BasicGrey (my) and American Crafts (boys); Ribbon/crepe paper: My Mind's Eye; Chipboard hearts: Fancy Pants; Word Stickers: K&Co; Jewels: KaiserCraft

Variation #1 - I wanted to include a lot more pictures than the sketch had so I used a lot of smaller cropped photos. The photos still add up to the same over all size as the photos on the sketch.

• In place of the left 4 x 6 I used a 4 x 4 and two 2 x 2 photos.
• In place of the middle 4 x 6, I used four 2 x 3 photos.
• On the right I used the same photo on the sketch, a 3 x 4

Variation #2 - Instead of using flowers I used boy and girl icons to go with the theme of my layout. I had chipboard icons but they were way too big so I had to make my own. They were actually really easy since most of the lines are straight and I could use a ruler.

On the girl icon I added a little skirt with ribbon/crepe paper and added a pink heart. For the boys I added blue hearts.

Variation #3 - I added a few scallop strips and 1/4" strips of patterned paper to the strips of paper on the bottom.
