Gallery Week and a giveaway

•••••••••••••••••••
Today's gallery standouts are picks from creative team members Shari Thurman, Christine Chain, and Jennifer Larson. Each of these are eye-catching layout and it's easy to see why they stood out!

"Life is Bubbly" by Ashley Horton
based on Two-page Sketch #10
Picked by creative team member Shari Thurman

The first reason I chose this layout was because of the wonderful photos. The sweet girls' smile is contagious. I was then drawn to the corrugated title and handmade paper flowers with stitched details.

 "Earth Day" by Michele Edwards
based on Two-page Sketch #8
Picked by creative team member Christine Chain

What I love about this layout:

1) How she used the Earth as the circle in this layout. Set against the black background, it really stands out and complements the theme.

2) The brads in variegated blue. Again, it just fits the theme and shows how you can interpret the use of a "strip of paper" to fit your needs

"Starting Now" by Jennifer DeWolfe
based on Two-page Sketch #11
Picked by creative team member Jennifer Larson

Here's what I love:

1. The subdued background color really highlighted the absolutely stunning colors in the photos.

2. I also love the variety of photos selected: close-ups, medium shots, and long-shots of the whole group. That really gave a complete picture of the event.

3. Most of all...the butterflies. The swirls of them are just amazing!

A very big thank you to Laurel Seabrook, Sherri Thompson, Mary Bezdicek, Michele Edwards, Ashley Horton, Michelle Norstrom, Andrea Niemeir, and Jennifer DeWolfe for letting us share your layouts here!

Love the patterned papers she used and the flourish. I like how it's not gender specific...cute but not "too" cutesy!

It is very hard to choose just one layout as there are so many beautiful works of art posted. By my favorite has to be "So Tired" by CKcollins 15. I love that one adorable picture and how the layout is such a compliment to that one precious picture.

So many great ones...I really like "GAME OVER" by rufftucksyd; really neat how she cut the hockey stick out of the picture. Makes the boy really stand out and makes it look as though he is skating around the page.

So much great stuff in the gallery ... I put it on slideshow and let all the layouts scroll by, then I did it again. In the end, I couldn't pick just one. I picked 3, all by Jennifer DeWolfe: Weekend in the woods, Life should be an Adventure and Now known as Gopher Mountain. I love them all!

Athabasca Falls by rufftucksyds (Michelle)

The photo is just amazing and the way it is shown off with the papers, title and embellies just makes it shine. Love it!

Oh, this was a difficult decision! I think (today, at least) that the Best Friends LO by JCKincaid2011 is my favorite in the gallery. I like how everything is anchored to the page together, and I really admire the way JC clustered her embellishments. I'm still working on that skill, so I notice it when it's done well by others. :)
