Card Sketch #16

“Happy Birthday” by Sue Althouse
Supplies - Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned Paper: Crate Paper (Paper Heart); Stamps: Hero Arts; Ink: Colorbox (Chestnut Roan); Other: Signo uni-ball white pen, buttons, white thread

Both my mother and mother in-law celebrate birthdays in February, so I used this sketch to create their birthday cards.

Variation #1 - stamped a background using a masking technique.

Variation #2 - substituted buttons for some of the hearts.

Variation #3 - layered the heart patterned paper onto six layers of white cardstock for a chipboard look.

Variation #4 - omitted the stitching through the hearts and used a white pen for faux stitching around the frame.
