Two-page Week, Part 4

Two-page Sketch #24

You can download and print this sketch by clicking on the two-page sketches link found under the "printable sketches" tab on the right sidebar.

"Dashing Through the Snow" by Cherie Nymeyer
Supply List - Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Patterned Paper: Echo Park; Jewels: Kaiser Craft; Punch: Fiskars; Stickers: Echo Park; Digital Journal Card: Creativity Prompt; Letter Stickers: Sassafras Lass and American Crafts

Variation #1 - I chose to omit the top photo on the right page and extend my title along both pages.

Variation #2 - I flipped my journaling to the outer right side of the right page and added a sticker to the upper right corner of the page.

Variation #3 - I decided to put a snowflake that flourishes into the page as opposed to dangling snowflakes from the top of the left page.

Variation #4 - I made the two smaller photos on the right page 2"x3" and the picture on the far right 4"x5"

"Wonderland" by Suzanna Lee
Supply List - Patterned paper: Pink Paislee; Wood banner and Button: My Minds Eye; Fringe: Canvas Corp; Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Stain; Punch: Fiskars; Digital Elements: Ormolu, Echo Park, Unknown (snowflakes); Cutting Die: Tim Holtz; Chipboard: Creative Imaginations; Chipboard Letters: Basic Grey; Misc: Stickles, Gutterman Thread

Variation #1: This is a hybrid layout in that some of my embellishments (snowflakes, 2010 and journal card) are printed from digital elements.

Variation #2: I varied pictures sizes slightly in order to accommodate what I had and wanted to use. Instead of the collection of pictures in the center, I used two 6 x 4 pictures side by side to create the "tall" part of that block.

Variation #3: My journal spot is in a different place because I had all that white snow that needed a distraction.

Variation #4: I have a few extra layers at the bottom of the picture blocks. The scalloped edge is turned up so that the canvas fringe can dangle down.

"Snow Sliding" by Allison Davis
Supplies - Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned paper: Echo Park; Alphabets (chipboard "SNOW): My Mind's Eye; Alphabets (stickers "sliding"): Basic Grey; Stickers: Echo Park; Jewels: KaiserCraft; Glitter accent: Stickles, Ranger; Embroidery floss: DMC; Computer font: Century Gothic

Variation #1 - I tend to have a lot more vertical photos so I adjusted the sketch to work with the taller orientation. The adjustments were minor - I moved the bottom down and used a smaller wavy strip for the hills.

For the top photo, since I couldn't overlap it onto the bottom photos without covering up important pieces, I used a smaller cropped photo (4 x 4) under it.

Variation #2 - I added a few trees next to the snowflakes. I love creating little scenes on my layouts and by adding the trees it helped to enhanced the wintery theme with the snowy hills going across the page.

Variation #3 - I used a shorter journaling block. Since I didn't want that piece to overlap onto the picture too much I extended the width of it and made it shorter.

Yikes! These layouts are amazing.

Cherie - Great layout! Love how you switched up the photos and that sweet mitten banner is perfect. I really like the kraft background too.

Suzanna - This was a popular collection to use. That pink snowsuit is perfect with these papers. I really like the fringed border.

Allison - Your layout is stunning. You always have the best photos. I love your title and the snow covered trees.

I love all the inspiration this week and all the snowy pictures make me yearn for snow. It doesn't snow where I live and I have never experienced snow.
