Card Sketch #16

You can download and print this sketch by clicking on the card sketches link found under the "printable sketches" tab on the right sidebar.

"Hugs and Kisses" by Virginia Nebel
Supplies List - Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned paper: SEI; Embellishments: The Twinery, Kaiser Kraft; Diecuts: Lifestyle Crafts

Variation #1: I created a grid pattern using twine and replaced the hearts with X's and O's and placed the message at the bottom of the card.

"XO" by Suzanna Lee
Supply List - Cardstock: Bazzill Basics, Coredinations; Patterned paper: Echo Park, Pebbles Inc, American Crafts, Jillibean Soup; Letter stickers: Authentique; Twine: The Twinery; Buttons: Favorite Findings; Doilie: Dollar Store; Mist Mask: Pink Paislee; Mist: Smooch; Stickers: Echo Park; Paper Lace: Creative Imaginations; Word Art: Scrapbook Printables

Variation 1: Clearly, I created a card and not a layout. No surprise there, I'm sure!

Variation 2: I rotated the grid 45 degrees so that the squares are on the angle.

Variation 3: I misted first then put the grid on top for some added visual interest to the background.

Variation 4: Not every "intersection" has a heart, it was too much given the size of the grid I chose to use.

"Hugs and Kisses" by Penny Grimsley
Supplies - Patterned paper: Fancy Pants (Love Story); Alphabets: American Crafts; Embellishments: Fancy Pants and Pink Paislee

Variation #1 - I changed the grid of the sketch to be a Tic Tac Toe grid. I saw that immediately when I saw the sketch.

Variation #2 - I used tape for my grid rather than stitching.

Variation #3 - I added a background piece of paper.

Variation #4 - I added a wide strip of the tape at the bottom of the card for emphasis.

Variation #5 - I embossed the pink gingham paper to give it a little movement under the grid.

"Love" card by Allison Davis
Supplies - Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned paper: My Mind's Eye; "Love" die cut: My Mind's Eye; Heart punch: Martha Stewart

Variation #1 - I flipped the whole sketch.

Variation #2 - I added three more hearts to cover the whole front of the card.

Variation #3 - I included the message on top of the hearts instead of below the hearts.

Variation #4 - I did not include the stitching.

Our family does quite a bit of traveling, so I love the idea of a book filled with travel sketches. Hope to be a winner.

I work full time and have a very active family life. I am so glad to have these books in my life! I own several, including the first one page book. I'm so glad to see the second one page book. And the travel book with the extra journaling room is right up my alley. I visit this site each day for inspiration. Thank you for making my scrapping life so simple. I get SO much more done since your books have come into my life. :-)

Both of you can email me at allison@scrapbookgeneration.com with your shipping information and we'll get those books sent out to you.

These are all making me smile, love them all. Such pretty hearts from everyone.

Suzanna, that word art is perfect, would love to have that on my wall. It is so true and that might help me get thru the tough days.

These are all so amazing!! Virginia, I love the "x's" & "o's" and the little heart on the dowel!! Suzanna, what a great layout and I love the way you used the design on your page! Penny, I love the embossing on the plaid paper and that you didn't fill in all of the spots in the grid! And Allison, those plaid hearts are so cute against the kraft background!!

I love it ... one sketch, but each person interprets it in their own unique way! Really inspiring!

OMG! Thank you SO much! I was so excited to see my name as a winner. I yelled so loud my teenaged son actually broke away from his tv downstairs to see what all the hoopla was about. I am so grateful to not only be a winner, but also to have these books available to make my scrapping life so much easier!
