Card Week, Part 5

Card Sketch #17

You can download and print this sketch by clicking on the card sketches link found under the "printable sketches" tab on the right sidebar.

“Natural Beauty” by Carolyn Wolff
Supply List - Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned Paper: Little Yellow Bicycle (Paradise); Chipboard and Die-Cuts: Little Yellow Bicycle (Paradise); Ink: Ranger Distress Ink; Floss: DMC; Buttons: unknown; Brads: Creative Impressions; Marker: American Crafts

Variation #1 – I created a two-page layout using this card sketch. The sketch element is the panel in the middle of the right page.

Variation #2 – I did not create the different panels shown on the sketch. I cut a piece of brown cardstock that measured 4 ¼ x 10 ¾ inches. I cut 2-inch squares out of different patterned papers and adhered them to the brown strip. I hand-stitched each square with brown embroidery floss. I added printed and chipboard embellishments to the bottom of the panel to replace the message spot on the sketch.

Variation #3 – I used Two-page Sketch #20 and incorporated my panel into the layout.

"Hello Teddy" by Michele Edwards
Supplies - Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned paper: We R Memory Keepers; Embellishments: Recollections (small star brads), Jolees (pawprints), Velvet ribbon (unknown), bone paper clip (unknown); Alphabets: Cricut (Plantin Schoolbook); Ink: Tim Holz; Floss: DMC; Twine; American Crafts.

The boys finally got their dog, a pudgy cocker spaniel! They named him Teddy!

Variations

1. I created a two-page layout rather than a card.

2. I flipped the sketch 90 degrees. The square photo of the boys replaced the square sentiment on the card.

Carolyn...this is such an awesome layout. I wish I can make a card sketch into a two pager. Love the stitching and the paper squares.

Beautiful layouts ladies!

Michelle-What a cute puppy!

Carolyn-Love the layout and the stiching. I appreciate knowing that it's hand done as I am trying to master stiching by hand/with the machine and it's so tough! You make it look effortless. All the stiching really brings the layout together.
