Card Sketch #19
Today is the first of our Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker Product Challenge!
In case you missed the product challenge details, Nikki Sivils provided a collection kit to each member of our Creative Team. Each had the choice between the four newest collections - Noah, Audrey, Exit Here, and Messages. Together with the May sketches we will show you how using the same products and even the same sketches can produce so many different results.
They are also featuring our sketches this month on the Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker blog! You'll definitely want to go check out how their talented team used the sketches from our two newest books!
Since it is Card Week, all of the projects posted today for the product challenge are based on the May card sketch.
Noah Collection
"Sorry I am Late" by Jill Sarginson
Supplies Used - Patterned Paper: Nikki Sivils (Noah paper pack); Alpha: Nikki Sivils (Noah paper pack); Ink: Vibrance; Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Tools: Creative Memories circle cutting system; Other: Floss
Variations:
• I used a title and a subtitle on my card.
• My embellishment cluster is larger than the sketch suggests.

“Happy Birthday” by Andrea Friebus
Supply list – Patterned paper, die cuts, stickers: Nikki Sivils (Noah collection); cardstock: American Crafts; ink: Clearsnap; other: baker’s twine
Variation #1- I added a piece of polka dot patterned paper to the cardstock for some color and interest.
Variation #2- Instead of stitching on the rectangle, I glued down baker’s twine and added the scalloped die cut borders.

Audrey Collection
"Mother’s Day Card" by Katrina Hunt
Supplies - Patterned Paper: Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker (Audrey Collection); Cardstock: American Crafts; Punch: EK Success; Adhesives: Scotch and Scrapbook Adhesives
Variation 1 - Made smaller.
Variation 2 - Left off circles.
Variation 3 - Added a layer and border punched.

Exit Here Collection
"Love Lives Here" by Virginia Nebel
Supply list - Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned paper: Nikki Sivils; Embellishments: The Twinery; Diecuts: Die-namics, LifeStyle Crafts, Recolleciton washi tape
Variation #1 - I turned the card sketch into a 12 x 12 layout and used the circles as my inspiration. Extending the sketch vertically and imagining three full vertical circles, the shape of a stop-light came to mind. I played up the stop light theme by creating a road and travelling camper pulling an air-balloon full of hearts. Using the Nikki Sivils alphabet stickers on the road sign, you can customize any message according to your photos.

Messages Collection
"You're Just My Type" by Lynette Jacobs
Supply list - Cardstock: Bazzill; Printed papers and embellishments: Nikki Sivils (Messages); Other: We'R Memory Keepers twine
Variation #1: I glued twine to the edges of the vertical strip.
Variation #2: I raised the circle with foam squares.
Variation #3: I punched tiny hearts and added it to the sentiment and the bottom half circle.

“You Light Up My Life” by Sue Althouse
Supplies - Patterned paper and embellishments: Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker (Messages collection); White pen: Uni-ball Signo
The circles on the die cut punch-out sheet were the perfect size for this card! I couldn't resist adding more layers from that sheet.
Variation #1 - Added border strips to each side of the paper strip.
Variation #2 - Added layers of embellishments to the circles.
Variation #3 - Changed the message shape to a square.
Variation #4 - Layered the message on more patterned paper and drew a faux stitched border around it.

What a wonderful group of cards/layout, love love them all.
I didn't know a whole lot about Nikki Sivils but I went to her blog and I love all of her collections! I think if I had to pick, I'd say Noah is my favorite with Exit Here as a close second!

With so many great collections to pick from it is really hard, but I will have to say that I like the colors of Exit Here the best. Also want to give a shout out to the great design team for all the fabulous cards and layouts this week. WELL DONE!!
Hard to single out just one as a favorite, but I sure do like that Messages collection. So I guess I'll just call it my favorite.

My favorite collection is Exit Here. I still have lots of travel photos that are waiting to get scrapped.
Love the simplicity and colors of all the collections, but the "Exit Here" collection would see the quickest use...have many trip scrapbooks to complete. Most importantly, our 6-week camping trip to Alaska. That collection would make a great addition to the scrapbook..wink, wink!
