About Us

Scrapbook Generation is a Springfield, Missouri retail store started in 2004 by two sets of sisters: Debbie Sanders and Karin Rush, and Debbie's daughters Stacey Atchley and Allison Davis. In 2010, the family business expanded to include Scrapbook Generation Publishing.
"Getting started..." by Debbie Sanders co-owner of Scrapbook Generation
You know how sometimes you agonize over a purchase of a few dollars, but decide instantly on something expensive, like a car? That reminds me of my decision to open a scrapbook store, arguably the most financially significant decision I have ever made, yet also one of the quickest “big” decisions I’ve made.
It’s all my sister Karin’s fault! In March of 2004 when I half-jokingly mentioned we could open a store together, I never dreamed she would jump at the chance. I found out she was as eager to leave her near-30-year teaching career behind as I was.
Within a week, Karin and I and my two daughters, Stacey Atchley and Allison Davis, were sitting down at our favorite restaurant, looking through folders of information I had gathered. There on the spot, two sets of sisters agreed to cooperate, and Scrapbook Generation was born at a table loaded with baked potato soup, chicken strips, Diet Coke, and high hopes.

Debbie Sanders
A retired teacher, administrator, and school district public information director with a 31-year career at the same school district, Debbie Sanders is a past Missouri Journalism Teacher of the Year. The newspapers and yearbooks she advised were consistently named All-American. Debbie was a three-time Missouri Communicator of the Year.
At Scrapbook Generation, Debbie is the buyer and idea person. She designs monthly kit clubs and sketches, and writes the SG blog posts and newsletters.

Karin Rush
A 27-year teaching veteran with a masters degree and careers at two southwest Missouri schools, Karin Rush was chosen as the Willard South Teacher of the Year.
At Scrapbook Generation, Karin is the face of the store. She greets people, manages the daily operations of the store, handles the organizing and shipping of the monthly kit clubs, and organizes and displays new products.

Stacey Atchley
With a background in newspaper and advertising graphic design, Stacey Atchley is SG’s resident card expert. She is a guest teacher at other scrapbook stores, and she is a design team member for a scrapbook manufacturer.
At Scrapbook Generation, Stacey is the customer service contact for both the retail and wholesale sides of the business. She also handles wholesale orders and shipping. She designs monthly kits clubs and sketches, designs the sketch book covers, and writes and maintains the SG website.

Allison Davis
A two-year member of Creating Keepsakes magazine’s Dream Team, Allison Davis is a CK Hall of Fame member and a Scrapbooker of the Year finalist. Her layouts and articles are published frequently in books and magazines, and she has taught at national conventions. Her latest honor is designing sketches for BasicGrey.
At Scrapbook Generation, Allison works with customers, designs monthly kit clubs and sketches, creates store displays, and writes posts for her blog (www.allisonrdavis.blogspot.com). She represents SG at CHA, and is the creative force behind the new Sketch Support website, which she envisioned, designed, and brought to life.
