Add-on Week, Part 1

The cupcake add-on sketch is perfect for creating unique birthday cards or invitations. The cupcake can be constructed in so many different ways that you could use the sketch again and again and end up with a different looking cupcake each time. Creative Team members Carolyn and Jill prove that with the adorable birthday cards they created using the cupcake add-on sketch.

I think the Add-On sketches are some of my favourite to work with. They really challenge me to do something different.

Here are my variations on the sketch:

Variation #1 – Instead of using the lines on the cupcake wrapper, I used an embossing folder from Cuttlebug and gave my wrapper a unique design instead.

Variation #2 – I used fabric instead of paper to create the top of my cupcake. I added stitching to the circles to fasten them to my card.

Variation #3 – I left off the cherry and added a matching button with floss tied through the holes.

Variation #4 – I tied a piece of ribbon around the base of my cupcake and added another fabric circle to the center of the knot.

I used this add-on sketch for a card as the cupcake was perfect for an upcoming birthday! This sketch allowed me to use all scraps, I love when that happens!!!
