One-Page Week, Part 1 and a Sponsor Giveaway

••••••••••••••••••••••••
There are so many layouts to post this week that I'm just going to jump right in and get to it! Prepare to be amazed at all the wonderful pages the creative team have made based on the one-page sketch.

Today, all of the layouts follow the sketch almost exactly, with each designer's personal style shinning through.

One-page Sketch #4

You can download and print this sketch by clicking on the one-page sketches link found under the "printable sketches" tab on the right sidebar.

"Sweet Dreams" by Noey Hunt
Products used - Patterned papers: DCWV (shimmery background), K&Company (blue), My Mind's Eye (stripes), Sassafras Lass (hearts); Epoxy stickers: Making Memories; Tools: Cricut Create a Critter cartridge (title and owl)

No real variations here. I dropped the journaling area but used the rest of the sketch as is. These are some recent photos of my little baby happily sleeping.

"Ridin' the Rocket" by Carolyn Wolff
Supply List - Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned Paper: BasicGrey; Alphabet Stickers: Doodlebug and KI Memories; Chipboard: Fancy Pants; Brads and Twill: unknown; Ink: Ranger Distress Ink (Vintage Photo)

This layout came together very quickly for me. I made a few changes but basically followed along as it was shown!

Variation #1 – I wanted to use the large letter stickers to create my title and that cut down on my journaling area. I used a chipboard element that will hold the location and date (I have to go back through my files and look that up).

Variation #2 – I altered the size of the photos on the right side of the page to accommodate the photos that I had. Some I could crop more than others so they vary in size. I also sanded the edges of my photos to give them a crisp edge against the dark background.

Variation #3 – I added another chipboard element along the striped pattern paper. I accented it with some brads.

These photos were taken about 5 years ago. My son went through a phase where he really wanted one of these little motorcycles called Pocket Rockets. We stayed at a friend’s cottage and they happened to have one that the kids could use. They spent hours riding up and down the dirt roads. It was a great way for him to get it out of his system and for me to get some great photos.

"Downtown LA" by Tammy Tutterow
SuppliesPatterened paper: BasicGrey (Wander: Gridlock, Lost Luggage, and Layover; BasicGrey Basics White: Booknote); Stickers: BasicGrey (Wander: Designer Epoxy Stickers, Ribbon Doilies, and
Element Stickers); Alphabets: BasicGrey (Wander Micro Monos; BasicGrey Green at Heart Mini Monos); Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Black Soot)

For this page, I stayed pretty close to the original sketch, except for measurements. When I printed the sketch, I printed it the wrong way on the page and cut the part off with the measurements. That is what I love about these sketches though, you can follow them precisely, following every measurement or you can follow the concept and just eyeball the sizes to what looks and feels right. Either way, you end up with a great page!

Here's a closer look at some of the details:

"I Love Your Smile" by Shari Thurman
Supply List - Patterned paper: We R Memory Keepers; Alphabet: American Crafts; Tools: We R Memory Keepers Brad Setter/paper piercer; 3D Foam Adhesive: Thermoweb; Other: Kraft paper, machine stitching, brads, twine

I stayed true to the sketch measurements on this layout. I omitted the tiny word strips on the left and the right of the layout. I stitched along the photo strip on the right and added straight stitching to the background. For embellishment, I added the stitched banner to the left corner and then added brads and a twine bow to the bottom of the focal photo.
