Card Week, Part 1

•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
I'm hoping that this sunshine card brings some sunshine to us! I'm ready for it after all the rain and flooding we've had around here.

Today we've got three cute cards from Noey, Jill, and Christina that are great examples of the sketch as it is.

Card Sketch #6

You can download and print this sketch by clicking on the card sketches link found under the "printable sketches" tab on the right sidebar.

"Celebrate" card by Noey Hunt
Products used - Patterned papers: Bella Blvd (clouds), Cosmo Cricket (sun), Jillibean Soup (kraft)

I used the sketch quite literally. I chose a patterned paper for the sun and cut the clouds from another patterned paper.

"Hello Sunshine!" card by Jill Sarginson
Supplies - Patterned Paper: Echo Park (Walk in the Park collection), Bella Boulevard (clouds); Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Tools: Creative Memories circle cutting system; Ink: Vibrance; Font: Computer-generated (DBJ How Cute Am I); Floss: Anchor

I completely stuck to the sketch here!

To make the sun rays, I cut a square out of the yellow cardstock that was the same size as the blue background piece. I then drew rays (freehand) and cut them out and inked the edges. I placed them on the card and then cut out a yellow circle for my sun.

To add some interest to the card, I decided to stitch each ray. I just punched holes freehand along the seams of the rays and then stitched.

The sentiment was printed directly on the cloud. To do this, figure out the size of the element you want to print on. Then open an image editing program such as PSE or even Word and make a circle or square that size and enter your text within the dimensions. Print it on a piece of plain white paper and then adhere your element on top of the printed text on the page and re-run it through the printer).

"You Brighten My Day" card by Christina Hoffman
Supplies - Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned Paper: Echo Park; Jewels: Kaiser Craft

Variation 1: I added jewels to give the sun some bling.

Variation 2: I also moved my message from the front cloud to the back cloud since I made it bigger.

Congrats to Jill for winning a book.

Allison, so glad you picked a sunshine sketch this week. We need it bad here in Ohio. So very tired of the rain we keep getting and the cloudy days don't help either.

Ladies your cards are awesome, I love all the little details added to each one. They are all perfect and fun and colorful. Thanks for sharing and bring on the SUNSHINE this week for me.
