"Makes Me Laugh" by Jennifer Larson
Supplies - Patterned paper: Crate Paper, Fancy Pants, Pink Paislee, Studio Calico; Letter Stickers: American Crafts, October Afternoon; Stickers: Crate Paper (border), October Afternoon (label), 7gypsies (date); Button: Crate Paper; Pen: Zig; Font: Times New Roman; Ink: Stampin' Up!; Floss: DMC; Cabochon: Pebbles;
1. Argyle makes me think "guy," so I decided to make a page about my husband. I wanted to make a simple page highlighting one photo and the story behind it, so I used the argyle below the photos as an embellishment.
2. I made the patterned paper argyles square for easier cutting, 1x1 inch each. I lay them point to point and glued them down. Then I lightly drew horizontal lines above and below the squares, the drew the cross lines lightly too, meeting up in between each square. I punched holes on the cross lines 1/4 inch apart, then erased all pencil lines. I stitched by hand with red DMC.
3. There was red in the border sticker to the right and red in the argyle, so I added an embellishment cluster to complete the visual triangle.

"Sweet Baby" card by Jill Sarginson
Supplies - Patterned Paper: Crate Paper (Emma's Shoppe collection); Cardstock: Bazzill; Ink: Vibrance; Alphabets: Carolee's Creations; Fibre: Anchor floss, Forever in Time lace ribbon; Bling: The Robin's Nest; Adhesive: Glue Dots
I stuck to the sketch completely on this one. I printed out a diamond to use as a template (found here: http://www.clipartguide.com/_small/0808-0710-1516-0725.jpg). I printed it and then traced it onto my pattern paper and cut it out. I then placed the cut-out diamond in between my pieces of pattern paper, piercing along the edges of the diamond shape to allow for stitching. To add a final touch, I used glue dots to adhere some bling.

I had never thought of making my own argyle patterns. These projects make it look so easy! Definitely something I will try!
