Card Sketch #12

You can download and print this sketch by clicking on the card sketches link found under the "printable sketches" tab on the right sidebar.

"Happy Day" by Sue Althouse
Supplies used - Cardstock: American Crafts, Bazzill; Patterned Paper: Basic Grey Life of the Party 6x6 paper pad; Embellishments: Basic Grey Life of the Party Petals, 12x12 sticker sheet; Letters: Basic Grey Life of the Party; Other: Sew Easy

I absolutely love this sketch! As soon as I saw it, I knew I would be making a card and a layout.

For both projects, I stayed close to the sketch with only a few minor variations.

Variation #1: matted the square grid on an additional piece of cardstock.

Variation #2: added a small embellishment in the lower left corner of the inside square.

Variation #3: substituted flowers for stars and omitted the flourishes.

"This Is The Life" by Sue Althouse
Supplies used - Cardstock: American Crafts, Bazzill; Patterned Paper: Echo Park Country Drive, Echo Park Happy Days, Collage Press Hometown Summer; Border Punch: Fiskars; Embellishments: Echo Park Country Drive Element Stickers; Journaling Card: Echo Park Country Drive; Title: Thickers, October Afternoon Mini Market Stickers, Echo Park Dots & Stripes Element Stickers; Other: Sew Easy

Variation #1: added a blue scalloped cardstock border to the grid and striped paper.

Variation #2: changed the background grid to different sizes of patterned paper instead of squares all the same size.

Variation #3: stitched only two sides of the inner square.

Variation #4: substituted a photo for the stars and placed my title and journaling where the message would go.
