"Celebrate our Savior" by Shari Thurman
Supplies - Patterned paper, Alphabets and Stickers: Echo Park; Cardstock: Bazzill; Paper Punches: Creative Memories (star); Adhesive: ATG by Scotch; 3D foam adhesive: EK success; Ink: Colorbox Chalk Ink (Dark Brown); Ribbon: Unknown; Thread: Coats and Clark
Variation #1: I created a two-page layout instead of a card.
Variation #2: I didn't have a die cut background to use on my layout, so I just used a polka dot paper and two decorative borders from the Echo Park, Dots and Stripes sticker sheet and stitched over the top.
Variation #3: The overall size of my tree is larger than the one on the sketch (approximately 10'x6") and I chose not to overlap part of the tree off left side of the layout.
The strips of paper on my tree are 1/2" wide and then I machine stitched between them and also on the trunk.
Variation # 4: I moved my title to the top so that I would have more room and then I tied a ribbon around the tree.

Variation #1 - Surprise! Surprise! It's not a card but a layout! I took the card "bit" and made it into an embellished journal spot on my layout.
Variation #2 - Not just one tree but two! The more the merrier! These trees are decorated differently than the diagonal lines in the sketch. I wrapped twine haphazardly on one tree and hung ornaments on the Stickled garland of the other.

"Super Star" by Allison Davis

I love these pictures of Drew from his Kindergarten Spring concert (he played a rock star) and wanted to find a way to display them in our home. What's the fun in just buying a regular frame for the photos? I thought the card sketch design would be perfect for filling in the one section of the photo tray that I didn't have a picture for.
Variation #1 - Since I wasn't creating a card I went without the main base and just let the black of the tray show.
Variation #2 - I flipped the design to fit what I was working with, because of both the layout of the photos and the design I wanted to use.
Variation #3 - To fit with the "super star" theme I wanted to use a big star in place of the tree on the sketch. It's not quite as big as the tree on the sketch so I added some smaller stars to help accent it and to fill most of the same space the tree on the sketch does.
Variation #4 - I did add stitching to the star and also stitching across the middle of each stripe on the background piece.

Shari - I love your layout. I think it is brilliant when you can take a card sketch and turn in into something other than a card. Great job.
Suzanna - Nice job converting the sketch. I love that you can really see the card sketch in your layout. Great photo too.
Allison - I loved these photos when you posted them on your blog and they look spectacular in this photo tray. I have to do a couple of these for Christmas and you have inspired me to get started.
