Two-page Week, Part 5 - Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker Product Challenge

••••••••••••••
Two-page Sketch #28

You can download and print this sketch by clicking on the two-page sketches link found under the "printable sketches" tab on the right sidebar.

It is time again for our Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker Product Challenge!

In case you missed the product challenge details, Nikki Sivils provided a collection kit to each member of our Creative Team. Each had the choice between the four newest collections - Noah, Audrey, Exit Here, and Messages. Together with the May sketches we will show you how using the same products and even the same sketches can produce so many different results.

They are also featuring our sketches this month on the Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker blog! You'll definitely want to go check out how their talented team used the sketches from our two newest books!

Since it is Two-page Week, all of the projects posted today for the product challenge are based on the May two-page sketch.

Messages Collection

"Lukas' Happy Place" by Lynette Jacobs
Supply list - Cardstock: Bazzill; Printed paper: Nikki Sivils (Messages); Letter Stickers: American craft, Doodlebug; Other: Felt cut with Die cutter and gold stars

Variation #1: I used 3- 4x6 and 1-3x3 photo instead of the smaller photos.

Variation #2: I replaced the star border with flags.

Variation #3: I added a narrow strip of red stitched paper above the flags.

“My Mac Family” by Sue Althouse
Supplies - All my supplies are from the Nikki Sivils Messages collection, except the following: Alphabets: American Crafts, Bella Blvd.; Tools: Fiskars Star Punch, We Are Memory Keepers Sew Easy; Ribbon/Twine: We Are Memory Keepers floss; Other: buttons

I used the left-hand side of the sketch to create this layout about what I fondly refer to as "my Mac family", which includes an iMac, iPad, iPhone and iPod. And yes, I use every one of them regularly!

Variation #1 - Used the left-hand side of the sketch to create a one-page layout.

Variation #2 - Used slightly smaller photos.

Variation #3 - Used several patterned papers for the background layer.

Variation #4 - Added additional embellishments above and below the sketch.

Audrey Collection

"Grin and Bear It" by Ashley Horton
Supply list - Patterned Paper & Stickers: Nikki Sivils; Twine: My Mind's Eye; Brads: Bazzill; Buttons: Michael's; Thickers: American Crafts

Variation #1 - I changed the two smaller 2x2 photos at the bottom, to one 4x3 photo.

Variation #2 - I framed in the title in the journaling area, but didn't add a different piece of patterned paper over the background paper.

Variation #3 - I added a few fussy cut words from the Nikki Sivils patterned paper, beside the last photo on the right-hand page.

Exit Here Collection

"Snapshot of Nature" by Virginia Nebel
Supply list - Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned paper: Nikki Sivils; Diecutting: Silhouette, Lifestyles

Variation #1 - I opted to use only the right side of the sketch to create a 12 x 12 page.

Variation #2 - I substituted the 2 x 2 photos for round journaling spots.

Variation #3 - Instead of the stars along the bottom I created a sub-title with banners.

"The Alley" by Suzanna Lee
Supply List - Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Patterned paper, Die Cut Shapes, Stickers: Nikki Sivils; Buttons: Blumenthal, American Crafts; Twine: We R Memory Keepers, The Twinery; Letter Stickers: American Crafts; Misc: Stickles

Variation 1: Pictures: Instead of the two 6x4 pictures I used a 5x7. I added a picture to the left of that. Instead of the one of the 3x4 pictures, I used two 3x3's. This was all in the name of getting individual shots of each of the kids present and a group shot.

Variation 2: I liked the look of a piece of twine run along the top of the stripey strip. It made me think of the bumpers that the kids still need to bowl with.

Variation 3: Instead of stars, I used buttons. The buttons looked like bowling balls rolling down the lanes to me.

Variation 4: Because of the extra picture, I had to move the title and journaling.

 Noah Collection

"Some Good Old-Fashioned Relaxing" by Noey Hunt
Products used - Patterned papers: Nikki Sivils; Accents: Nikki Sivils; Letters: American Crafts (white), Nikki Sivils; Stamps: Close to My Heart; Tools: Cricut CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge (stars)

Variation 1: I combined two smaller photos into a 4x6 photo on the right page.

Variation 2: I replaced the 2x2 photos with accent blocks and patterned paper because I was all out of photos for this event. I also moved them to all be below the photos.

Variation 3: I moved the journaling up above the photos on the right page because my patterned paper on the left page was too busy to write on directly. And because I had a space to fill after moving the accent photos.

"Adorable is My Middle Name" by Jill Sarginson
Supplies Used - Patterned Paper: Nikki Sivils (Noah paper collection); Alpha: Nikki Sivils (Noah collection); Ink: Vibrance; Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Tools: Creative Memories star punch

Variations:

• I used one larger photo vs. two 4x6 photos.

• My three smaller photos are 2.5x2.5.

• I added a circle layer under the title to help bring in some of the other patterned paper.

"Bashful Jackson" by Allison Davis
Supplies - Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned paper, die cuts, alphabet stickers: Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker

I followed the sketch almost exactly with just three small variations.

Variation #1 - Instead of stars along the bottom, I used banner pieces.

Variation #2 - I added a large star embellishment about my title in place of the two smaller stars on the sketch.

Variation #3 - Since I had used one large embellishment in place of two smaller ones, I decided to add another small star and word piece to my layout.
