Card Week, Part 6 - Guest Designer

••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
It's Guest Designer, Jody Benjamin's turn to show you how she used the card sketch. She created not just one, but two super cute cards.

Card Sketch #3

You can download and print this sketch by clicking on the card sketches link found under the "printable sketches" tab on the right sidebar.

"Amore" card  by Jody Benjamin
Supply List - Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned Paper, Chipboard Shapes: Basic Grey; Circle Punch: Marvy Uchida; Adhesive: Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, EK Success (pop dots)

Variation #1: I omitted one of the strips, and hand cut the scalloped strip.

Variation #2: For the background I cut the top piece of patterned paper to 5 ¼ x 2 ¼ and the bottom piece of patterned paper to 5 ¼ x 1 ¼.

Variation #3: Instead of the layered squares, I punched a 2 ½” circle from patterned paper, and then layered the chipboard hearts on top of the circle using pop dots.

Variation #4: I omitted the message from the card because I thought it would look too busy with all of the wording on the background paper.

"Happy Birthday" card  by Jody Benjamin
Supply List - Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned Paper: Basic Grey; Sticker: Jolee’s Boutique by EK Success; Rub-Ons: Pebbles Inc. “Happy Birthday”, The Paper Company “Make a Wish”; Square Punches: Marvy Uchida; Adhesive: Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Variation #1: Instead of Three smaller strips, I extended the two outer strips to the edge of the card leaving the striped strip in the middle.

Variation #2: I punched out a square from the front of the card so that the cupcake embellishment on the inside of the card would show through.

Then I added a border around the punched out square on the front of the card to make it stand out.

Great job on the cards Jody! How did you make the cupcake? Was it with felt and beads?

Michelle, I wish I could say that I made the cupcake, but it is from Jolee's Boutique.
