One-page Sketch #9

You can download and print this sketch by clicking on the one-page sketches link found under the "printable sketches" tab on the right sidebar.

"Splish" by Suzanna Lee
Supplies - Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned paper: Fancy Pants, Little Yellow Bicycle; Alphabet Stickers: American Crafts; Punch: EK Success, Martha Stewart; Ink: Martha Stewart; Tear Drops: The Robins Nest; Decorative Scissors: Fiskars; Chipboard: Heidi Grace; Other: tulle

No stars, just lots of little fishes swimming around. I used an extra border strip above those that are on the sketch. My biggest "variation", or addition, to the sketch was the pinking sheers to the "wave" with some tulle peeking out from underneath.

"Happy Day" card by Melissa Elsner
Supplies - Paper: Pink Paislee; Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper; Stickers: SRM Press; Ball Trim: American Crafts; Bling: Kaisercraft; Circle Punches: EK Success; Pen: Uniball Signo; Stamp Ink: Versafine; Other: woodgrain stamp

I was inspired by the composition of the one page sketch this week. In my head I saw a card. So I used the foundation of the sketch as my card design. The add-on sketch was the perfect embellishment to go with the card.

I used the circle punches I had in my stash which measure at 1 1/8" and 5/8". I know, weird sizes but it worked out.

To adhere the circles, I punched out a larger circle and put some liquid adhesive down. It made it easy to arrange the circles. Then to finish it off, I had a wood grain stamp in my stash to make the trunk look more realistic and some ball trim to create grass.

"Bang Bang Bang" by Noey Hunt
Products used - Patterned paper: American Crafts (clouds), SEI; Tools: Cricut Opposites Attract and Don Juan cartidges (title)

Variation 1: I'm always taking vertical photos, so I altered Allison's sketch to allow for 3 vertical photos. But I matted them to keep the shape of the sketch.

Variation 2: I decided to extend the black horizontal line to the edge of the page. I just wanted it to be a bold anchoring line.

Variation 3: Since I chose such a busy pattern for the main accent paper, I needed to pop the journaling up with strips.

Variation 4: Once I put the whole layout together, I realized the patterns were busy enough that embellishments would be too much. I wanted this layout to be really clean with the cool color combo. So I passed on the embellishments and added an extra frame for the photos with some faux stitching.

These look great ladies. The first two are so colorful. How sweet the last one is.

Allison glad to hear your family is safe. I saw that on the news and wondered how close to you that was. The weather is crazy this year, let's hope for no more.

Good job as usual ladies. Suzanna I love the tulle/lace on the bottom and the colors are wonderful. Melissa I love how you combined the add on and the one page sketch to make your bright and cheerful card! Noey great job on the colors, I tend to think of gray as gloomy but you pulled this happy layout off so well.

What cute little fishies, Suzanna. I don't see a manufacturer listed for them. Could you tell us how to get some? My little guy swims like a fish...and they would be perfect for this summer's swimming pics!

Glad to hear you and your family are safe, Allison. Was just reading about the devastation in MO and thought of you.
