Two-page Sketch #16

"Neighborhood Friends" by Jennifer Larson
Supplies - Cardstock: Bazzill, Stampin' Up!; Patterned Paper: Pink Paislee, October Afternoon; Letter stickers: October Afternoon; Chipboard Letters: American Crafts; Die cuts, rubber charms: Pink Paislee; Buttons: Stampin' Up!; Black Thread: Karen Foster; Floss: DMC; Pen: Zig

1. I mostly kept the photo and paper orientation. I wanted to fit one more photo, so I adjusted, and I honestly didn't really measure the patterned paper strips. I picked the paper I wanted and cut it so it would all fit in various sizes.

2. I have all boys, so I knew I wouldn't use the flower accent or butterflies, so I clustered a bunch of themed embellishments instead.

3. I always cluster in a visual triangle--I am a slave to the visual triangle!--so I added a cluster of accents to the lower left.

"Flowers From Jesus" by Amy Roller
Supplies - Patterned paper: Scenic Route, My Mind's Eye, unknown; Flowers: BasicGrey, Sassafrass; Rub-ons: SEI; Butterfly punch: Martha Stewart; Rhinestones, Black pen, Butterfly: Recollections;
Stickers: Creating Keepsakes, Jolees; Stamps: Papertrey Ink; Ink: Stampin UP!; Letters: American crafts, Prima

I followed the general sketch but changed the picture sizes and placements to fit what I had. Because of this I also used different sizes of strips along with a photo across the bottom to fill in the space.

I used pre-made flowers but mixed them up and added other elements to them. I also added a rub-on stem.

For the embellishments, I used butterflies and other gardening tools.

Because I wanted to use a longer title, I moved my journaling further over onto the 2nd page.

The papers I used came with word strips but only 1 of each so I couldn't do a matching border across but I liked the sentiments on them. So, I just went with it and used them together anyway, even though they were different colors.

These are both awesome and fun. I love that Allison made this sketch to use scraps. Both of you did a wonderful job making it your own.

Very pretty layouts. I love the garden Amy. I just did a butterfly garden layout using a sketch from a couple of weeks ago! Love how time saving these layout sketches are:)
