Two-page Sketch #20

Supplies - Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned paper: American Crafts; Alphabets: Doodlebug Designs (You); American Crafts (Complete, Me); Embroidery thread: DMC; Adhesive: Scrapbook Adhesive by 3L; Tools: Cricut Machine (Hearts, Circles)

Variation #1: I replaced the 2 x 2 photos with a 4 x 6 photo.

Variation #2: I cut circles in half to create the scallop border under my photos.

"Keeping Cool" by Lynette Jacobs
Supplies Used - Cardstock: Bazzill; Printed Papers: October Afternoon, Pink Paislee, Cosmo Cricket, Simple Stories; Ribbon: Fancy Pants; Alpha: American Crafts

• I kept to the measurements and directions on the sketch.

• I replaced the scalloped strip with a felt trim.

• I printed and cut a sun to add to the left hand corner of the layout.

"On Cloud Nine" by Noey Hunt
Products used - Papers: Creative Memories (background), Bo Bunny (pink dots), My Mind's Eye (clouds); Embellishments: Making Memories (journaling blocks), Heidi Grace (rubons); Tools: Cricut Lyrical Letters cartridge (baby shower and stork), Ashlyn's Alphabet (title)

I stayed pretty true to the sketch this week. It was a great opportunity to sneak in little supporting photos for this event.

In a few places, I dropped a layer of paper strips if I thought there was enough going on. And I decided to use a stork instead of the hearts to fully implement the theme of this layout.

Loved this sketch when I first saw it but worried about all the tiny little photos. Why didn't it occur to me to swap them out for a 4x6. I gotta get into this sketch thing more and learn to think outside the box.

Christina, Lynette and Noey you all did great on your layouts. I can't wait to see what everyone created for the Happy Day Simple Stories Challenge on Friday. Based on the layouts so far, I know they will be awesome.
