To kick off card week, we've got four cards that all follow the sketch by using candles yet each one looks so different. Mostly due to the differences in how the candles were created and the different elements.
Card Sketch #4

"Happy Birthday" card by Shari Thurman
Supply List - Pattern paper and Cardstock stickers: Echo Park; Other: Embroidery thread, ribbon and machine stitching
For this card I added pattern paper to the background and stitched a border around the card. I then machine stitched on the candles and hand stitched the flames on top. Instead of the stripped paper I substituted ribbon and added the sentiment.

"Wish Card" card by Jill Sarginson
Supply list - Cardstock: Recollections; Patterned Paper: Prima, Bo Bunny, BasicGrey, and We R Memory Keepers; Alphabets: Jillibean Soup; Embellishments: Scenic Route; Ribbon: unknown; Miscellaneous: Chipboard; Pen: Zig writer; Adhesive: Tombo glue, two sided tape
Notes:
This sketch was just shouting birthday candles to me! I tried to go in another direction but kept coming back to this design.
This card was made out of all scraps. To create the candles, I cut varying lengths of pattern paper and then rolled them onto a pencil. I applied a thin line of glue along the seam and held it until it was secure. To secure the candles to the card, I placed three horizontal lines of two sided tape across the card and then stuck the candles on.
The flames were cut free hand from some scraps as well. The ribbon is secured with two sided tape. I put a little square of chipboard behind the tag so that it popped off the candles a bit.

"Happy Birthday" card by Carolyn Wolff
Supply List - Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned paper: Best Creation and Bo Bunny; Chipboard: TPC Studios ; Marker: American Crafts ; Punch: Fiskars; Adhesive: 3L
I wouldn’t say that I varied my card from this sketch much at all. I loved the idea of the candles and the birthday theme. I always need birthday cards.
The candles on my card were cut out from a pattern paper. I layered them over top of the scalloped border (the sketch shows the border over the candles). I used a foam adhesive to pop up the flames.
My sentiment is a patterned piece of chipboard and a rub-on sentiment. I also used foam adhesive to give some dimension.
I used a black marker and a ruler to draw the lines around my finished card.

"Celebrate" card by Allison Davis
Supplies - Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned paper: TPC Studio, Creative Imaginations, and KI Memories; "Celebrate" sticker: Karen Foster; Brads: We R Memory Keepers and Doodlebug; Embroidery floss: DMC
I followed every detail on the sketch to create my card. To make the candles I used patterned paper, hand stitching, and brads in different sizes and shades of orange.
