"All Is Bright" by Suzanna Lee
Supplies used - cardstock and border: Bazzill Basics; patterned paper, stickers and stick pin: Little Yellow Bicycle; letter stickers: Sassafrass Lass; twine: The Twinery; felt: Creative Imaginations, Michaels; lace: Websters; bling: K & Co; mist: Studio Calico; misc: Guttermann thread, Stickles
Variation 1: I used felt instead of paper. I cut 2 1/2 inch wide lengths of felt and folded them in half with Scor Tape adhering both edges together. I cut about 1/3 to a 1/2 inch strips 3/4 the way up. I used more Scor-tape on the back side to adhere the strips to the paper with a slight curve. As the tree grew taller, the strips are a 1/2 inch shorter.
Variation 2: My tree trunk is made from rolled cardstock that I covered in Scor-tape then wrapped with twine.
"Christmas Tree Ornament" by Shari Thurman
Supplies - Cardstock: Bazzill; Adhesive: Beacon's 3 in 1 advanced craft glue; Ribbon: Unknown; Thread: Coats and Clark; Felt: Unknown
Variation #1: I created an ornament using my vast collection of ribbon rather than using paper.
I cut a piece of cardstock into the shape of the Christmas tree, roughly 5x7". I collected several pieces of green ribbon and cut them into 3" pieces. I placed the tree in my sewing machine. I folded the ribbon pieces in half and stitched them one at a time to the tree. I started at the bottom and worked my way up, slightly overlapping to cover stitching. I then trimmed any stray ribbons and added a felt star to the top.
Variation #2: I stitched a piece of brown felt for the tree trunk and glued it to the back of the tree.
Variation #3: I then added a piece of ribbon for hanging.
Variation #4: Using green felt and glue, I covered the back of the ornament to hide the ribbon, trunk and stitching.

What fun and creative ideas these are ladies. I like that we can use this sketch as a craft also.
Love that you both used something other then paper, loving this week.
GREAT JOB!!
Shari what a fantastic idea to make an ornament out of the tree! It looks fantastic!
Suzanna...that is the coolest tree ever!
I love the idea of making this into an ornament...well done Shari.
Suzanna I almost used felt to make my tree. Yours turned out so cute. I may have to do it after Christmas on a layout. I think I will try cutting the felt with pinking sheers.
You gals are all amazing, but then, I guess you knew that already.
The-Trees-Are-Awesome!
Wow ladies! These are fantastic! Love both and don't think I'd have the patience to make them. You both rocked it out!
Suzanna - Your tree ROCKS! I really like the felt and how it lays so nicely. The colours are spectacular. The stem is very creative too. Great job!
Shari! I really like the idea of making an ornament using the tree sketch. All the ribbons together look so pretty. Awesome idea.
